Candy squid, and collon biscuits are quite common and familiar food and I think roasted crabs look delicious. But how about others? others are not familiar food not only for foreigners but also for Japanese.
Foreigners may misunderstand that these are common snacks and drinks in Japan, so they said Japanese choose odd food, but actually, it is not true.
Japanese buy them as a souvenir and enjoy just once or a few times.
so I do not want foreigners to misunderstand Japanese people have a strange palate.

I have had Genghis Khan caramel. The taste was terrible, but that kinds of snaks would help to make people laugh and good atomosphere.

oh by the way, I have tried 3.Roasted baby crabs and like it! I thought it was normal, i don't think it is weird, but for some people do...huh? It contains calcium and i think it is good when you are drinking with it... :D
Meat flavored ice cream...hmmm it does sound weird!!!!! Have you tried it or do you wanna TRY it??? if you do, please let me know how was it! hahaha

ReplyDeleteI saw these srtange ice cream at Nanja town in Ikubukuro. Many strang ice cream gather there. If you had to recommend one strange food for foreigners, which one you would choose for them? My friend who from England hated "Nankotsu" when we went to izakaya. I think "Nankotsu" become strange food,too.
If foreigner saw only these 10foods, they might thought that Japanese people eat crazy foods.

As Sayaka said, some foods are strange in some countries but it may be normal in other countries. It's very interesting. This is really Food Culture!!
I've had the chicken wing ice cream. It wasn't that bad. It was kind of salty-sweet, but the chewy chunks of chicken in it were weird. It was worth trying once, but I wouldn't buy it again.

Really? I have never been Nanja town and I have seen these strange ice cream just on TV. I would recommend cream collon to foreigners bcuz
it is the most familier food for me. yep, I've heard Nankotsu is not popular. They cannnot understand nankotsu is bone or meat.

I have never tried meat ice cream and I do not want to. roasted crab sounds delicious. Foreigners have different point of view, so as Sayaka said Nankotsu is also weird food for them. That is difference of food culture and it is very interesting!!!!
